After watching the film, it seems to me that everyone that got on the elevator has their own taste of music. So each and every one of them decided to play their own out loud so that they wouldn't have to hear other people's music. Towards the end of the video, the tall, black guy came in with what looked like a tape/cd radio player. Everyone turned off their music I'm guessing because they thought he was going to blast his music. But instead, he put in his headphones. Once everyone started smiling the elevator decided to finally play music that everyone could listen too. The girl, in the beginning, looked young enough to be a teenager, so she must like that hard rock music while the other old man liked Beethoven music. They chose that audience to show everyone's taste in music.
